What this site is for

Stark Quantum publishes orientation. The essays exist to help a reader tell a claim from the evidence behind it, and the briefs exist to record a number and where it came from.

That is the whole purpose, and it has limits worth stating plainly.

Not advice

Nothing here is legal advice, investment advice, financial advice, or security advice, and nothing here is engineering advice for a specific system.

In particular, this site publishes on post-quantum cryptography and on cryptographic risk. Those pages describe the state of published evidence. They are not a migration plan, they are not a recommendation about any product, and they must not be used as the basis for a decision about the security of a real system. Decisions of that kind need someone who knows your infrastructure, your data, and your obligations.

No relationship of professional advice arises from reading this site or from writing to its author.

Accuracy and currency

Every brief cites a primary source, and the intention is that both the claim and its limits are stated correctly. Even so, this is one person reading technical literature, and errors are possible.

Briefs are frozen after publication. If one turns out to be wrong, the correction appears as a dated note at the top of that brief and the original text stays where it is. Essays that are marked as living carry a reviewed date separate from the date of first publication; where those differ, the reviewed date is the one to trust.

A page that was accurate when written may not describe the field today. Check the dates, and check the primary source. Corrections are welcome at

info@starkquantum.com and are the most useful thing you can send.

External links

Links point to preprints, repositories, and technical pages published by third parties. Those pages were considered relevant when the link was made, but their content is not under the control of this site and can change at any time. No responsibility is accepted for the content of external pages; that lies with their respective operators.

Assessment of third-party claims

This site evaluates publicly published technical claims, including claims made by companies about their own hardware. Those assessments are opinion formed from the cited sources and are offered as commentary and criticism.

Where a result is described as unconfirmed, narrowed, or not yet demonstrated, that is a statement about the published evidence available at the time of writing. It is not an allegation of bad faith on the part of any researcher, laboratory, or company.

Trade marks

Product, company, and organisation names on this site are used for identification and description only. They remain the property of their respective owners, and their use here does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by them.
